Communication Arts 4 and World Literature (English 4) is designed to enhance the competence of the students in the five macro skills, namely listening, speaking, reading, writing, and critical viewing with analytical web-reading and participation, and expose them to some of the best literary pieces that the world has to offer. The students are expected to become more competent in spoken and written discourse and to develop a keener sense of understanding the diversity in the views and cultures of peoples around the world.

Course image Elective - Mandarin

This elective in Mandarin Chinese is an introductory course to Mandarin Chinese and Chinese culture. It aims to develop basic competence in communication through task-based and communicative-based learning designs. Phonetics, vocabulary, basic grammar, and script are the four main learning points of this course. According to the standard of learning Chinese as a foreign language, the levels covered in acquiring the language skills are “Threshold” (Focus on phonetics and basic script writing) and “Lower Elementary” (Focus on 100 vocabulary and basic grammar). The course also covers cultural content through language points found in texts that show the phenomenon of Chinese culture.
Course image English 3: English and American Literature
English
This English 3 course (Communication Arts 3 and English and American Literature) is the continuation of the two lower English courses previously taken by the students. It aims to develop competence in communication through literature-based lessons designed to enhance further the five (5) macro-skills (but giving emphasis on the integration of analytical web reading and participation with critical viewing) through readings and analysis of English and American literary texts.
